  5. People/Americans like HOAs for the same reason they live in housing developments: They're dumb, boring, sheep. Even expat communities in other countries can have HOAs, so they bring this crap with them.

  7.  @cryptbeast3222  Semantics. It sounds like it's not the kind of place for you, so good thing you don't live there. You can start a co-op where people don't have to have kids. Also, guess where people without kids can live? Practically anywhere else. Co-ops are not the same as HOAs.
