Since automobiles were invented, it's been a war on by cars against everyone and everything but cars -- pedestrians, bicyclists, streetcars, public transit, etc. Cars and highways are the dominant transportation at the cost of everything and everybody else. The cars are leading the war against everything else, not the other way around. "Automotive expert" = auto industry propagandist.
