Rather they were kept in wage labor to generate raw materials and demand for manufactured goods from British companies. 2. Slavs have enslaved many peoples like the Tatars and Turks. They kept their own populations in serfdom too (Poland, Russia) 3. It matters not what your own ancestors did, but the circumstances in current Britain. The life you live today, and the comforts you take for granted, may very well have been the product of colonial exploitation.
