  1. Hydrogen gas turbine for sure. Weighs way less and about the same efficiency. NOx emissions are improving but aren't really that big of an issue for planes.

  3. Bacause it is not an energy source, just an energy carrier. You need energy to produce it first.

Would require some not so small changes in infrastrucure like you're saying, but hydrogen is probably the most cost effective, efficient and usefull method for carrying/storing large amount of energy. Ofcourse batteries are more efficent, but they lack in cost effectivness and practicallity for things like planes and ships.

  5. Turbofans or turboprops are better than fuel cells + electric motors.

  6. If it produces electricity why do you need to make fuel? Just use the electricty directly.
