Canadian here. I support my neighbors having the same health care that I have. Keep this going. We got healthcare during an economic hardship and it took this kind of pressure to get it. Do not listen to those who what-about-if your country into mediocrity. Edit: mistakenly said Canada got universal health care during recession - it was during economic hardship, and in response to increasing costs.

@richardthompson5436 I don’t need to have my employer pay for surgeries. Speaking of surgeries, you surgically bypassed all of my points to make your incorrect one. Congrats.

@richardthompson5436 The true snob tries to ruin something for others by pretending to be an ally. No one is asking for nor wants the protection that has been “given” to us. I wonder, would we have as much of the gun crime in Canada if we were beside France instead of the US? The smugness you have forgets that we wouldn’t have a lot of problems if we weren’t next to the US. So the imperialism masquerading as nonexistent protection is not only not needed, but is proven to amount to nothing but more war. Have fun with you’re own brand of selfish smugness. Remind me again before you go - how many countries have declared war against Canada? What’s that? Zero? Oh okay. Thanks for all of that protection. Sure comes in useful never. I love that in your rambling your forgot about all the other countries that have universal healthcare and don’t live anywhere near the US. Forgot about those inconvenient facts, didn’t ya. Caveman conservative see only thing in front of me and no think of other tings.

@katkat8865 the thing is - so many Americans come here for health care, too for varying reasons. The important thing is that no one here is dying because they are poor. The rest is worth fighting for, too, but at the very least, going bankrupt for a heart transplant shouldn’t be a thing.

@richardthompson5436 you mean the servitude of having your heath care tied to your private employer? Your idea of “freedom” is weird. I’d rather have my health care tethered to something I can vote on. Good luck convincing your employer to change your plan based on your employees needs. You might want to leave your shit job but can’t because of your benefits. That sort of anti-freedom garbage doesn’t exist in Canada. Deal with it. Conservatives have no problem spending 5x to bring pipes, water and electricity out to the country - making an entire municipality pay for their country lifestyle. It’s time you paid something back. The “Canadians come to America” for healthcare has been debunked 1000x times. Do people go to different countries for health care? Always! Americans are obsessed with their exceptionalism that they don’t even bother to research that this is a common thing all over the world. UK has a great health care system. Do you think that England sometimes goes to France for medical? Of course. Why wouldn’t they. Some countries do certain things better - there’s no reason to try and deny that. But again, no one in Canada is selling their house to pay for cancer treatments. The point you conservatives love to gloss over.
