I’ve never shown my ID to vote in Canada. Never. I bring my voting card and that’s it. The idea that everyone will commit voter fraud is a boogie man that doesn’t exist. You know who loses their ID all the time? The elderly, mentally challenged, and those with mental illness that prevents them from keeping or maintaining a life let alone an ID. So there’s literally millions of people that you claim don’t exist. Please. Try living the life of someone who has a degenerative brain condition, and see if they agree with your isolated view of the world.

It’s not racist in a blatant way. It’s an acknowledgment that generally speaking, those who are more well off and established will have everything they need to vote - someone who barely has enough to pay their bills are less likely to have the drivers license or special voter ID card (which conservatives are against in any other setting) sorted out. It’s more of an attack on the poor, which happens to have more minorities in the mix.

@Laremy I don’t need to. I subscribe to facts and data. Keep telling yourself you’re not a racist. It’s working for you

@MaynardCrow well, you’re a really empathetic person, aren’t you?

Bunch of whining conservatives. “Less government! Except this. We need this.” 🙄 You like it being about race because then you can make binary talking points and not address the millions who don’t have ID. In your self-important world view, you forgot about a lot of people. Congrats, I guess.

@magicblanket You’re trying to quietly make the argument that if people can’t get an ID, that they don’t deserve to vote. A purity test. You know what countries require a voter ID? Basically none of them. My country - Canada - no ID required. This is the most obvious boogie man ever. It’s not working. We see you.

@magicblanket Voting is a right. Period. Full stop. It’s not up to you to gatekeep people’s rights. And I’m sorry but no - there’s documentary on Netflix. USA and North Korea have similar voting regulations, requiring ID. I’m sorry, but the fact that you would have to pay for a “right” shows you have no rights worth fighting for. That’s the real tragedy. Really not sure why you keep mentioning kids voting. No one asked for that and it’s a dumb thing to bring into a conversation, really.

@magicblanket oh what a reach. A utility Bill is now identification? It’s actually not, though. Try buying alcohol with a phone bill and see how far you get. Your whole argument relies on things that just aren’t true. Look at the length you have to go to prove your point. Look at you go and try to compare a monthly Bill that is sent to you regardless of what you do to an identification that you have to apply and wait for. Are you a teenager or child? I’m legit trying to understand why you’re confidentially trying to compare these completely different things.

@alvinrodney6229 You’re on YouTube streaming videos. According to ips polling, you’re part of the 10% of the world who can access the internet at high speed. You’ll have to forgive me when I don’t take your diatribe seriously. A poor country should know that rules and laws cost money. This is a law against a crime that doesn’t happen. Let’s make a law on not chewing gum inside of an elevator when it’s moving, you know, because I said so. 🙄 Laws are generally made when someone does a thing. This is just boogie man rhetoric.

@alvinrodney6229 okay what does that have to do with voting ID?
