This is a depressing take, David. Historically this is how people move mountains. Canadians got their healthcare by it being passed during a time of financial and economical hardship. Pressuring AOC to force the vote is objectively the only way your country has a chance to get healthcare. She's released several videos in recent months decrying the sorts of people who are now excusing her. I don't really understand this perspective. It's really depressing to see this really defeatist angle. Don't tell me about "the real world." My real world as a Canadian directly reflects a strong liberal stride that you are deliberately sidestepping for almost no reason. AOC's career is not more important than millions of people with poor health.

He literally has nothing to do with this - it’s just the only thing you have. If it was a bad idea you could just say that full stop. But you can’t because you have AOC quotes and Jimmy Dore’s anger to keep you busy. This is just the most ridiculous nonsensical conversation. You’re essentially saying that because Jimmy Dore doesn’t “know politics”, as if it’s the stock exchange and not a right of every citizen - then he should shut up/ is irrelevant because the election is decided by elitists. If you’re not for M4ALL during the pandemic, that’s your privilege- not politics. How is it Canada and every other country can do the math on health care without spiraling into a conversation about affordability. You have the most basic geography of the other G8 counties, the most money, the least taxes - and yet you still can’t get it together on this. You’re depressing. Also, when your country stays out of other country’s business - then maybe you can cheekily suggest everyone shut up about yours. At this point, your country not having proper health care is costing all of us money.

@UconnzFynestZ it must suck to see her quoted directly saying that! Unfortunately, Canada did get universal healthcare in almost the same situation. There’s no excuse here. It’s historically proven that this is the time to strike. I’m tired of these lazy excuses.

Canada got universal healthcare during a depression, and it was widely supported. There is literally no better time than now to push for this. This is David’s laziest take and it shows.

@New_Blue_2 I dunno if you were around for the primaries - or familiar with your brand of “democracy”, but Bernie didn’t have a chance because delegates (how is this a democracy, exactly?) really decide what’s best for you, even when the votes are strong. In this case, Bernie didn’t win, but 67% of Americans want M4ALL. You’ll cite polling data when it meets your needs - so how about the polling data of those who want M4ALL? Secondly, the primaries didn’t happen during coronavirus. People are allowed to pivot based on the lay of the land. Polls have dramatically flipped in favour for M4ALL, even if you don’t like Jimmy Dore. It’s still true.

I can see why someone might not like Jimmy Dore’s approach (although I do think it actually makes a difference whether you can admit it or not), but I can’t get how you will let that get in the way of making your country infinitely better. Like, I hate Stephen Crowder as much as you can hate a « failed comedian », but if he had a medical for all vidéo up on his channel, I couldn’t see myself over there being a relentless dick about it. I think the fact that you’d give up free heart surgery if you ever needed it - just to make sure every one knows Jimmy Dore is bad, etc, is an extreme show of bad faith.

You’re bringing up trump audio - great - he’s a fraud - but AOC isn’t much better when it comes to defying what is said in their own video. It’s pretty clear cut. You can go on and on about how this is dumb (again, I disagree since there’s plenty of examples to pull from, like the fact that John Baeoner literally quit because of the tea party pressuring him). Pressuring works - I agree with AOC (prior to her recent flip flop). This cause is literally showing her her own video. And if it is a dumb move to force a floor vote then isn’t she a dummy for saying it before? Pick your perspective. I’m certain if AOC spearheaded this you’d have zero problem with it and that to me is the pure definition of bias. Up until this month I liked AOC way more than Jimmy Dore because she was saying what he is saying now. I don’t care who said it. I’m not like you - I don’t just flip because my idol says flip. If Jimmy Dore said he was against M4A, I’d be as antagonist as you are right now.

Hey did you hear about that time Canadians tried to her health care? The doctors went on strike, and it was pushed by a minority party that had NEVER been in power. Each country who has single payer has a story. Yours isn’t any different. I think you love AOC beyond logic shown to you. She basically (what other word could you use?) lied to everyone. She did have time to be on the cover of every magazine though. You’re not being objective here.
