@kellymartin2580 it’s actually not though. Spotify is really broken on some platforms, whereas YouTube is not. For example, Spotify on Roku (now with 3x the users of AppleTV) don’t even sync with the video correctly, or doesn’t even have video. I strongly disagree with your comment. YouTube lapped Spotify hands down.

These end cards are getting desperate sounding.

I’m not for or against the Twitter ban - but as a technologist let me add my perspective on this freedom conversation. Firstly, what is freedom? Is it freedom to do business the way you want, or freedom of speech? In tech, we don’t get both often. Let me explain: Let’s say I own a McDonalds - and for a week now a guy has been coming in and harassing patrons. As a McDonalds franchisee, I can kick this person out and tell them to never come back. It doesn’t matter if McDonalds is 2 or 2 million employees - this never changes. I can always kick out anyone I want for whatever reason. My property, my rules. In tech, nothing like this is guaranteed. Literally every thing you build - if done well - will eventually find itself in a free speech argument. Whether it’s Spotify or Shopify, the platform you built - because of its reach - will always be subject to freedom of speech regulations by the public. Is that freedom? To build something and know that if it hits a certain threshold (success), then you basically don’t get to say what goes on on your own platform? This isn’t just Twitter. It’s everything tech. As someone who builds platforms for a living, I can tell you that this increasingly prevalent notion is keeping people from wanting to build the next Twitter. Who wants to build something that a mob will eventually decides the rules? Not me.
