  3. In the USA, you can just drop off the keys at the bank and walk away. It's the bank's fault for not doing due diligence. You can't get blood from a stone.

  8.  @korinogaro  The bank didn't do due diligence. They were just handing out loans to anyone. Did the bank inspect the buildings? Ask them about income? Check the builder's finances and business practices? The loan agent only cared about getting a commission. It's the bank's fault.
