Raptor reliability is a big problem for SpaceX, they have continuously had problems with them, even multiple a re-lights still hasn't been done yet. For their last 3 test flights of starship/superheavy it appears they only run them at 75% throttle to increase reliability. Sadly the downside is apparent the payload capacity is much less than expected, probably less than 50 tons to LEO and 0 to TLI. U can ask the question they build the biggest rocket ever and it is still outperformed by a rocket that was designed and build in the 60''s with slide rules. We need to stop comparing a system that only exists in theory and cgi renderings to rocket systems that actually u know, worked.

never understood why spacex doesn't build to requirement. Just build it right the first time, they have the specs and 50 years of development to draw from.

Telling everybody it would fail doesn't make it right or safe. Its setting the bar pretty low. This might have been ok in the early sixties. But in this day and age only clearing the tower and calling it a succes even when the flight termination system failed is just wrong. It is just as wrong what happend with the Titan submersible. undeveloped and wrong design while knowing this still launching it. Starship and superheavy are from the launchpad up a failed design, especially with no launch escape system.

@ronblack7870 U do realize that super heavy is the first rocket stage (of starship) and doesn't go into orbit. Starship detaches from superheavy and goes (after refueling) to the surface of the Moon/Mars. So trying to simulate a Mars launch with a booster that isn't even going to Mars seems stupid

On the recent Starship launch i was disappointed with the camera angles and the quality of the footage. Launching the biggest rocket ever you would think they get some awesome footage of it. No the Old Saturn v still gives me goosebumps.

@andrasbiro3007 Considering u are obviously a dedicated Musk fan will not shatter you dreams just yet. I wil give u this. the only reason spaceX hasn't gone bust yet is because they get allot of tax breaks and government subsidy. For starlink alone they got 900 million in 2020. In 2022 they missed out on a 800 million subsidy because the service they provided wasn't what was promised. They have a 2.9 billion dollar contract with NASA to get starship to to the moon by 2025. to achieve this they were supposed to fly 2 a year by 2022. Also the Flacon 9 stil isnt 10 times cheaper as was promised by spaceX. After 6 years of development it is barely 10% cheaper. And the rapid reuse-ability is also a fluke. considering it takes over 40 days to make a booster flight ready again. compared to the space shuttle 60 days that was designed in the 1970s. So Elon Musk and his company's, more vaporware and empty promises than anything else.
