But but, Musk knows more about manufacturing than anybody else currently alive.
1000
Just remember how SpaceX charged the US military 40 million dollars for a extended payload fairing. EDIT: i looked it up and i was mistaken, it was 250 million dollars for a extended payload fairing

It symbolizes the Musk fans very well.. He has probably no idea what he is cheering for but he is doing it anyways...

Well a true first is the world's largest windscreen wiper on any non-commercial vehicle. So they at least accomplished that.

@yarpenzigrin1893 Way ahead in osha violations u mean

@subboid Nobody said re-usable rockets would never happen or work, The problem with reuse is that it is not very cost effective. it is merely a saving of about 10% which in return your payload capacity with the initial launch is much less, because u need fuel to land the stage. Also SpaceX failed to reuse the entire vehicle. Soft landing dragon was canceled and re-entering and landing the 2nd stage for reuse was also canceled so Flacon 9 is only partially re-usable.. The turn around time for a stage is still about a month which is only marginally faster than with the space shuttle. even inflation adjusted the cost to launch a astronaut to the ISS is about 20 million dollars more expensive now than it was in 2010. So no i don't see any great improvement here with reuse, besides launching payloads to LEO isn't anything new, it has been done since the 60's and more reliably since the early 80's.

It is to bad Destin didn't mention the elephant in the room that is SpaceX and StarShip.

These days it is very common to use adhesives to adhere car body panels together for structural and non structural purposes. Lots of manufactures also use basic adhesive tapes to stick cosmetic pieces to the car. This has been done for decades now. What happend to the cybertruck is just bad build quality combined with a severe lack of development and testing. We have seen this lack of R&D before from Tesla.
13
The epitome of a Musk fan....Take my money and shut up.
12
@BobDevV Cybertruck never even passed road en crash regulations in the EU.

For what its worth it works better as a carrot slicer than as a pickup truck.
7
Reminds me of the Kill-dozer

@Sabundy A lack of proper research if u ask me. But who can blame them, critical content on Musk is few and far in between. Also Musk is a tremendous sales-man, just the cheekiness for announcing ''new design plans'' for the new roadster that was supposed to be revealed 7 years ago is just amazing.
6
Tim the everyday astronaut is cheering because engines of the rocket are down? If i was going to fly on that thing i would be worried.

Musk complains about the long regulatory approval and the slow pace of the FAA stifling his ''innovative design approach'' which is exactly what Stockton Rush also claimed. The reason the FAA has to do a lengthy and complete disaster analysis after every Starship launch is because every Starship and every test article til now has ended up as a uncontrolled flying wreckage (for different reasons every time) or even worse the FTS didn't work at all. If Musk and SpaceX spend a little more time on their design and engineering fase before launching and actually completed a successful flight the FAA wouldn't have to start a disaster analysis after every launch. Also SpaceX's safety record is mediocre if u compare it to Soyuz, Apollo, or shuttle flights this includes testing and development flights. To put this into perspective i have never seen a Saturn family rocket blow up 2 min after lift off not even on the first test flights.

me neither

@JP-xd6fm Haha

He also sold ''boring company bricks'' for 200 dollars a piece at the boring company unveiling event. he is indeed a genius when it comes to separating fools and their money.

Comparing Britain leaving the EU to Trump becoming president is a non compassion

@markmercieca5569 Basically every main car brand, aerospace manufacturer and tunneling and mining corporation.
2
@bitrott926 90% of their overal earnings are in cars ales. Also the patents they hold are moot at this point because the competitor car brands have their own tech which is in most cases better. Case in point Tesla's full self driving patents, which in tesla's case doesn't actually work. Also the charging infrastructure in many locations is not owned by Tesla but by the government or heavily subsidized. The only patent they hold here is the shape of the plug, they did this to make it proprietary to Tesla. In my country the government has changed this to a universal plug. And the charging infrastructure in general is less used since people who have EV's charge them at home these days.
2
@ReneTuuliranta 80% of the launches sure but most of them are Space X starlink payloads. If u cut those out they launch just as much as ULA
2
Musk fans and in particular Tesla fans are almost universally non-technical people. Cybertruck and its features are as useful as a golden hammer, same goes for the semi.
2
All the fanboys claim that Starship was terminated by the FTS. If this is true why didn't mission control know about it and make the call? They actually thought it was in the coasting phase. For minutes they didn't know anything. As for the cheering spaceX employees. Seems to me they are just clueless to what actually happend and cheer on anything. I wonder if they would cheer if they lost a vehicle with people in it. SpaceX would call it a succes anyways everything after clearing the tower is just icing on the cake right .

@Herkulez1981 U obviously got influenced by the hype Musk created around himself and his companies. Think for yourself and critically. Since the start of his career it is well documented Musk lies to investors and makes claims that aren't even feasible just to jack up the stock Price. This is Tesla (and spaceX) in a nutshell a over hyped tech company with lots of promises where very few are actually delivered on just like Theranos. Tesla has a 4% share in the US automotive market and is lowest in revenue. The reason the company is valued so high is because of the hype and promises done by Musk. His gullible fanboys like u who are usually non-technical believe everything no matter how unpractical, unnecessary and unfeasible his idea's, claims and promises are. He also is not a founder of paypal, or Tesla nor is or was he ever a chief engineer for one of these company's or SpaceX. I mean c'mon even with the glass in the cybertruck event they switch from a steel ball to a soft baseball so the window doesn't crack again This is so obvious. This is ignoring the fact u don't need ''thermonuclear proof glas'' in a side window of a truck. Also tempered and laminated glass exists for ages and is nothing new despite what Musk claims. The only hope is that Musk and his fans make flight for Mars. But with the current design of Starship that is not going to happen any time soon.

@ananousous 007 doesn't use condoms

Only non-engineers believe Musk is a engineer. Same goes for morons, only they believe Musk is a genius.

Well the problem here is people. to many people to much emissions. The topic of overpopulation is taboe. This here is the fundamental problem and will never change.

@wereid1978 Clear succes with spaceX? U do realize SpaceX was bankrupt until NASA bailed them out by giving them a commercial contract and next to this millions to keep developing Falcon 9. And now SpaceX is price gouging the US military and Nasa with each and every launch. And dont even get me started on Starship and HLS. The abomination of a contract now costing more than the first estimate of 3 billion dollars. Nasa's Kathy Lueders awarded this contract on her own to spaceX right at the moment when Nasa had no administrator for a few months. Lueders by the way quit a few months after awarding this contract to work for... SpaceX.

Well to be fair, Musk is a dumb persons idea of a genius.

Tim Dodd got played and he knows it. He wouldnt have removed the dearmoon mission video otherwise. Also hearing him say he teaches rocket science on YouTube is one inflated ego. He is a infotainer at best.

@lotus30com U are right, i tried finding it but it has vanished without a trace

He can't run for president he wasn't born in the USA.

@The-Boulder-official Judging by the video footage that cybertruck front panel is a nightmare to glue. stainless is a very stiff material and has quite the thermal expansion coëfficiënt, so gluing this with panel bond was not very well thought out. same goes for the cant rail. I read the Tesla recall report they are now switching over to mechanical fasteners stud welded to the back of the panel. This a nightmare fix Most of the cars have the panel still glued on so trying to get that off is shear misery.

@B_Bodziak Thanks for the info! i didn't know that

They buy in to the whole ''advertisement boycott'' bs musk is claiming. Musk claims he is advocating free-speech, according tot that logic advertisers should also be free into choosing on which platform they advertise. Apparently Musk thinks people who don't agree with his views and decide not to do business with him is a boycott. This completely contradicts free-speech in general.
