I don't agree, the channel clearly intends to show that you can be progressive through subtly introducing "the message" rather than holding people down and ramming it down their throat. The point being that you can be inclusive without needing to shout about it or draw attention to it. The issue is that writers define characters as the gay one, or the trans one etc., rather than being just a person. It is lazy agenda politics and insulting.

^This Knowing your audience used to be a thing back in the day! I'm guessing her idea of her audience is non-binary or some other trendy sh!te.
3
The only reason I watch it is Pedro Pascal
3
@Colancio Indeed, a film has failed if you have to read the book. In the first couple of minutes of Dune (1984) you knew what was needed, although campy and dated it is the superior version.
3
...and when the male characters have to appear weak and silly to make the female lead look strong etc.
3
China is well known for playing the long game.
3
The whole episode is about being transgender and non-binary!
3
It's the lazy writer trope that women characters can only be strong if the male characters appear as weak. They need to study how it was done decades previously with the likes of Ripley and Sarah Connor, strong female characters written in such a way that it was not necessary to weaken the male cast.

@adem1781 Perhaps the in your face delivery masks the nuanced argument within. ;)
2
"they would breed themselves out and the zombies could just sit back and chill while they had all the gay sex they wanted." I laughed so hard that snot came out of my nose.
2
"Literally around the same time as Oscar Pistorius is getting parole." LMFAO! Good catch!
2
@skillcoiler "....or were too stupid to see pretty obvious themes....." Ah, so only intelligent people "see pretty obvious themes"? Well using that view, those that "see pretty obvious themes" in current Who must be intelligent otherwise they would miss them as they are "too stupid".
2
@mr coal But it wasn't from a dead soldier, it was issued to somebody of the wrong size and sent back. Happens all the time... ;)
2
Well observed.
2
"ALL the money from this movie goes to Great Ormond St Hospital. " No it does not, that is naïve. The simplest way to support and ensure ALL your money gets there is to donate on their website rather than pay to watch this sh!te!
2
@jg pliskin I am sure that the channel owner is crying at the money he makes.
2
Erm, that's not what he means by political.
2
Yes indeed, there is no extreme right or left, they are closer too each other than they believe themselves to be.
2
Peter Capaldi as Doctor said: “Doctor, I let you go”
2
Ouch! You made me have that thought now and as much as I detested Disco you may be right. You have traumatised me now, thanks!
2
Lecturing a non-binary, time travelling, alien. One that has interacted with countless civilisations across time and space. Assuming that the other alien would actually know about the current pronoun fad and give a sh!t. A new low in writing to promote "the message".
2
You've never met my mum.
2
@SoloRenegade You don't believe being a mother is a high achievement?
2
@SoloRenegade LOL, sure being a mother is easy. Whatever you say!
2
@SoloRenegade My case? FFS get a grip.
2
@SoloRenegade LOL it is hilarious that you are taking this stance. My grumpy all triggered.

Dear Cripple, Please don't become evil, it will ruin our agenda. Thank you, BBC.

That had a rocket launcher in her chair...

Yet here you are!

Being pragmatic in that age would mean the "diverse" ones being shipped out to some foreign land "where they belong".
1
@InceyWincey I said nothing of slavery. They would not have been welcomed, stop being so naïve about Victorian Britain. Yes I know there were immigrants, you think it was all hunky dory to live in Victorian Britain as a person of colour? These kids would at the very least end up in a workhouse.
1
The difference is in delivery and writing.
1
Marvel got way to complicated to follow. As a casual viewer I simply could not keep up with the intertwined films and frankly didn't care either because most of them are sh!te anyway.
1
Indeed, given the wonders of fast broadband there are many a film that would take me less that 1 minute to download and I can't be bothered to even fast forward through them, that is how sh!te they look!
1
The decline in ratings is going to be on an epic scale.
1
Draining his sea monster wouldn't be age appropriate.
1
cyberpeople There, corrected that for you.
1
Well I am glad it is not like 2, but concerned it is not like 1.
1
You make an interesting observation. After decades of watching, I too have never thought of Davros being disabled! How bizarre is it that I did not make the connection between being in a "wheelchair" and disabled?
1
All I got from that was "ladies" and "dirty".
1
I thought the actor plays Davros well, watching him transform into the Davros we know and "love" would have been good, a missed opportunity to copy Darth Vader's path.
1
He doesn't have a problem with diversity. You didn't watch the video.
1
What did the 3rd episode add to the series?
1
Whoever thought that hasn't been to a supermarket on pensioner discount days!
1
I could have got her back-story in a couple of minutes of exposition. It was absolutely unnecessary, but so has much of the tedious running time.
1
No it hasn't. It ended in 1989 due to viewing figures, the same is happening now.
1
Glad somebody else picked up that line, I nearly spat out my tea laughing when Tate delivered it.
1
A pan is what I fry my Full English in. Oh yes, I worship that!

The rot set in long before Disney.
