She would not have stayed there. After the weir it is tidal.

Nothing strange about long dark nights and nobody watching a weir 24x7.
3
Why rolled? Trip and fall off the vertical drop onto the rocks is more likely. It is 6-9ft in the middle. The water isn't still, it has a current. Where do you think that water going over the weir comes from? You don't app[ear to understand the physics of a huge mass of water hitting that weir either. Why does it have to be on that day and not in the days and nights after? There will be experts who know that river far batter than you or I, let's see what happens at the inquest shall we?
3
@janetcrane9100 The autopsy would show that she was put in the river. Since there isn't a murder investigation, it isn't murder!
3
The autopsy will show what she died of (drowning). The coroner will be asking the police to investigate how the body got from the bench to where it was found, it is this that they will be testing for the June inquiry.
3
@Miss Thing B AD You are going to be disappointed when the verdict in June is Accidental Death or Misadventure. The police don't wait until after an inquiry if it was murder. It isn't murder.
2
@apollonia6656 What are you on about? RICHARD SHEPHERD IS NOT INVOLVED IN THIS CASE
2
Are you suggesting that he was killed merely for driving a car owned by someone known to the police?
2
@mikalilypops3259 Suck it up snowflake.

Sandra Johnson Get a grip. Some people are using common sense, you may like to try it.
1
Sandra Johnson Speak for yourself, you lot need stop trying to be Miss Marple.
1
Sandra Johnson Can I be Cato?
1
@standstand6569 Yes which is what the OP said. They are clearly investigating how the body got to where it was found. If the autopsy showed evidence of criminality then the police would not wait for an inquiry, they would have started an active criminal investigation right after the autopsy result. This is absolutely not a murder case, it is an investigation into how she got there and will result in an Accidental Death or Misadventure verdict in June.
1
@ARolls-dd2zd If she was murdered then there would be a murder investigation not an inquest.
1
@janetcrane9100 Based on what evidence? Oh wait, you don't have any...
1
@mikalilypops3259 Because the police investigate a murder not a coroner! There would be no inquest, it would be the police investigating.
1
@mikalilypops3259 It hasn't been handed back to the police. We know this because there is a inquest date so it remains with the coroner who can not investigate a murder.
1
@melgrant7404 Nonsense. You are completely missing the point as usual. They are not investigating a murder, they are clearly investigating how the body got from A to B for the June inquest.
1
@kookiewookie2971 Wrong. The inquest would not go ahead, the police would be investigating the murder NOW.
1
Sandra Johnson There is nothing "wrong" with this case, it is idi0t armchair detectives making a mystery out of a simple drowning that is the problem.
1
@timblackwood1531 The autopsy results have not been released. It's all b0ll0x.
1
The cause of death will be known from the autopsy and they released the body. If it was anything other than drowning there would be a murder investigation right now. This is the coroner likely asking the police to investigate how the body got to where it was found.
1
Or she simply fell in, like people do every day.
1
I am guess that "sick internet sleuths" refers to a person recording the recovery of her body and uploading it to social media for likes and views. Or perhaps it is the ones who broke into peoples property and trespassed on their land? Or maybe the ones that have hassled the locals for weeks, peering through their windows and taking photographs? Maybe, just maybe it refers to those who have made unfounded accusations against her partner and family, accusing them of murder? So yes, sick internet sleuths is quite fitting in that context.
1
@FlyingMonkies325 Bodies remain in water for months without being found, you only have to read a paper to know that simple fact. Sonar does not penetrate reeds, it can not "see" behind debris, it is also difficult to interpret the displayed results especially when the body is side on to the sonar. The autopsy was done ages ago and the body released to the family. If there was any hint of criminality there would be a murder investigation. There isn't, so it isn't. What they are likely to be doing his testing their hypothesis of how the body got from the bench to where it was found.
1
@michaelsrowland I have not seen any footage of a dog on a boat being used in the search.
1
It is not a murder. The inquest date means it isn't one!
1
@uyoebyik I use common sense. You may wish to try it.
1
They are clearly testing how the body got from the bench to where it was found!
1
No it was not. It was an early report that was incorrect. The phone was found face up on the bench.
1
@ARolls-dd2zd Wrong. That was an early Inaccurate report. It was found face up on the bench.
1
@HooDie-Trench-GoTh2022 If there was any criminality found from the autopsy there would immediately be a murder investigation not an inquest. This is not a murder, that much is sure.
