  1. This is why I watch concerts from near the back when they're in small clubs, so if something happens, I can get out quickly. Also, take personal responsibility for your safety. Know where exits are, and plan your route to safety, if necessary.

  2. John is absolutely right. Context matters, and honestly, saying "the N word" puts the actual word in the listeners mind, so it's really no different than just saying the word. People need to get over themselves, and stop pretending that the color of your skin determines what words you can use.
