Boble Yee the shirt in and of itself isn’t offensive. It’s when a person, whose values and beliefs run contrary to what it represents, is told they are going to wear it. That’s when it becomes offensive or the fact a person is told to wear it. That’s why the hockey player, and others who share his beliefs, refused to wear it.
To describe the situation differently; say you were a democrat, who did not like or approve of Donald Trump, and your employer told all employees the business was going to have a Trump appreciation day and everyone had to wear MAGA shirts. As a democrat, you would most likely be offended that your boss was making you wear a MAGA shirt. I don’t know any liberals, who wouldn’t refuse to wear a MAGA shirt.
It’s like that for the hockey player. Due to his religious convictions, he is opposed to wearing a shirt in support of something he is opposed to.
I don’t know you so I don’t know if you are a religious person or not. I, myself, am. There is a saying “Don’t hate the sinner. Hate the sin”. I, personally, don’t have anything against homosexuals. We are all children of God. With that being said, I am opposed to some things homosexuals do because that goes against my beliefs. You have your beliefs and I have mine. They seem to differ on this subject and I am fine with that. I am certainly not going to attack you and call you names because you don’t agree with me. We will just have to agree to disagree.
