@NobleBearIV no such promise was made. gorbachev literally stated this while being alive. Also during that time soviet union existed. Soviet union isn't russia legally speaking and usa isn't head of nato. Thus such promise wouldn't even be valid.

@eeeeeehhhhhhhyyyyyy My point exactly. Tanks were from Russia, so why would there be tanks on day one of the revolt unless it was instigated by the people who delivered those equipment? Not just that but every captured soldier literally was citizen of Russia and had history of being part of their army. Too easy
