Dictatorships are never really friends. They are just temporally allies. WW2 already proved this. When nazies and soviets were allied for short period of time.

@quercus3290 They didn't help allies in WW2. They just took it as opportunity to take over eastern europe and oppress people in those countries. You still have pre-school understanding of WW2.
35
@quercus3290 Actually I seem to have better understanding than you. Are you seriously claiming that eastern Europe didn't become puppet states to the soviets? Pretty naive to think that Russia was there to help anyone but themselves. They were literally allied with nazies before Hitler declared war on them.
26
@azizorta5063 friends? No?`They had common enemy. They literally just race to Berlin because they still considered each others as enemies. Russia has never been friend of anyone.

@quercus3290 Nope nothing crazy. There are literal secret documented pact among nazies and soviets before WW2 started. In said pact they had already divided Europe on how they share with each others. That allience was over once Germany attacked soviets for their oil fields, since Germany was lacking in oil to keep up with their war efforts and infastructure. This is historic fact. Documents are all there black and white.

@quercus3290 " You also need to appreciate the historical links Russia has to Eastern Europe" Massive genocide and oppression by the Russia? There is a reason why whole Eastern Europe hates Russia with passion.

@craycraykian508 All that Russia had done to eastern europe is massive genocide and oppression. There is a good reason why every eastern European hates Russia.

@ayrnovem9028 First segment. Uther lie, Polish people were invaded, any parade would just be propaganda. Finland wasn't their ally. They were forced to partner them after USSR invaded Finland. Soviet's and n-zies were literally having parties together and there are photo evidence of this. Non-aggression pact was allience where they had decided how to split Europe, including Poland. "What you think you know about history is a mess." What you think about history is Russia's state propaganda.
1
@ayrnovem9028 1. War propaganda was popular at the time. Just like always. You would have to have pretty low IQ to think that Polish people liked Germany for taking over their nation. 2. Again parade hardly means anything. 3. Having secret parties with USSR tells different story. And again they literally did split the Europe with each others. 4. "brothers-in-arms" Just means what it reads. Aka we had common enemy. It didn't mean we were allies. We just fought back against common enemy and allowed German's to have their troops in Finland to fight against that enemy. As I said, Russia started the war not Finland. Finland was still neutral at the time when Russia invaded Another Putin's lapdog destroyed.

@ayrnovem9028 Again, do you even know what parade is? I doubt you do. There is literal pact between soviets which allowed n-zies take over the Europe. Pact where they split europe among themselves. That is more solid evidence than mere millitary parade. "That's a gem. Thanks for this sweet example of Orwellian-level mental gymnastics." Not Orwellian at all. You clearly never served in army. Nor do you understand millitary history. Finland was never allied with Germany that is historic fact. This is also precisely why Finland didn't have to pay the same price as germans and Italians had. "Aha, the totally anticipated personal insults." I didn't know that Putin's lapdogs take it personal to be called what they are. You're literally spouting Russian' states propaganda that is not teached anywhere else on the planet. I bet you think that Finland who just came out of civil war and had only 1 million people in populance seriously thought they could start a war alone against USSR and win it?

@davidschaftenaar6530 Number of them being defeated is irrelevant. Should I also point out that it was all thanks to British Intel that had broke the code and knew exact location of all german troops? " it was not their goal to help the Allies." Which was the whole point of the comment. USSR never cared about Germany. All it cared was world domination. " helping them is what the Soviet Union ended up doing. " Soviets also enabled WW2 to happen in the first place. "he Soviet's initially had territorial expansion as their goal for (arguably" It's not arguably, it's literally written in their pact agreement. "At that point the Germans invaded the Soviet Union and the Soviet's real goal became survival. " Invasion which happened only because british people had done blockade for Germany which prevented them from having oil. Simply put... British people were slowly destroying German's warmachine to the point that they had only one option. Either surrender or attack soviets thus breaking their allience. "The Soviet Union's goal became territorial expansion." It always were.
