It's a country that increased public spending to the levels that their own taxes couldn't sustain it so they took loan which they couldn't pay. Welfare states are expensive to maintain. Feeding and taking care of parasites who do not contribute to the society can be huge burden depending on demographic.

You're mixing up welfare state into socialism. Which is system which is abolishes the private sector. While reason why welfare state "works" in nordic countries is because we have low taxation on the rich, corporations and very low amounts of regulations. I doubt you want any of that? Also should mention that most of them actually run it on debt. Only denmark and Norway are exception to this. Norway because of oil and Denmark because they had cut down drastically when it came to welfare system. And in the case you wonder... I actually live in Finland. Bolivia and vietnam? Rofl you speak about those extremely corrupted nations where most of the population are poorer than minimum wage worker in USA?

With that reasoning literally every country on this planet is socialist including USA. And again it haven't worked well. Norway pays it with oil, which is not something that every country has. Denmark cut down drastically it's spending in it. While Finland and sweden are drowning in debt to pay their welfare spending. In fact finland did cut drastically about decade ago and saved us from bankrupcy.

More regulated the markets are the more corrupted the government will be since those regulations will be misused and managed. Not just that but more heavily regulations there are the poorer the nation is. There is direct correlation to this if you actually look at statistics. The "power goes to hands of the few" have never ever happened in history of this planet when it comes to the economic freedom. It's simply put impossible to run corporate empire so big any way. It will just create inflation which will hurt your country in long run. Economists and rich people are mad because they actually understand how economy and supplylines work.

What happens after you need to pay that loan back? This is why these policies that you advocate always fail.
