I'm not religious and you probably can see that. Good to know that we agree on this, but I don't think that holy books are mean to be interpreted. Think about it, why would all might being create book(or help creating it you get the point) with rules that can't be understood without making huge study about it or trying to figure out did he really mean something else with it. Why being cryptic about it? I like fundamental believers less, but I respect and understand them more than modernates.

jews to change their way? I think jesus did pretty clearly claim that he didn't come here to abolish laws. Whole point of jesus is that you can now do what ever you want and still get to heaven as long as you believe to him, but hey bigger reward if you follow old commandments. Or are you saying that god did suddenly change his mind after hundreds of years, and everyone else expect you is reading bible wrong?

We are now talking about christian god, who has clearly communicated with very easily understood manners in old testament. This line of thinking would work if the subject itself isn't Christianity. Also we have already Establishment that this being knows everything, which means he/she/it should know how to explain things to us clearly so that we understand. There are gods which can be disproven not all thought. Right christian would say "It's sin what you do, but that is between god and you."

Explaining that bacterians exists is pretty easy to explain. He could've even grant us scientific method while at it. He could have said that inside of you are very small animals which harms you. But for your luck you also have inbuild defence for most of them. I don't remember any white cells coming to talk people, neither I don't remember any case of disease starting to temp men. Agnostic atheist here.
