  1. Some issues here... First of all your assumption that old people don't consume is flawed. They do spend their money, they just use it differently. This undermines your entire premise. There is no conspiracy to keep society as "consumerist" when people would consume resources one way or another anyway. Instead of cars they might use it to video games or hobbies. Thing is... Money will flow regargless.
