It was actually very close. Do we need to remind you about the rebellion that happened during the war?
2
You clearly don't understand what GDP is if you think that "being rich" makes it up. Do you even know what GDP means?
2
I don't... USA and Ruzssia are basically federations. See how both of them ended up? Federation is just path way to dictatorship. It's better to have alliances and free trade like we already have. Having small specialized force to provide backups to the eastern front would be nice as well.
2
Look what happened to USA and Ruszia. All federations will eventually end up as dictatorships.
1
@aktob316 20k Is the active army during peace time. Our full force is around one million men who all are trained. Not just that but our cities are designed for nuclearwarfare as well.
1
@Prof.Dr.Ackermann Bro Russia failed to take over Finland in WW2, and Finland has now prepped over 80-years for possible invasion.
1
@chitzzz1384 Actually it doesn't, especially after the current war.
1
No, European army would be direct path to dictatorship. Each nation state should just increase their own military budget instead.
1
Not if they pick us one by one. Which is literally how Russia has got so big in the first place.
1
@mrsoisauce9017 this... basically we buy USA products because they are part of NATO just to be biggest arms sellers on the planet.
1
For people who are trying to support federation idea. You all ignore the fact that federations are highly susceptible to become dictatorships. We would just become like RU and USA. Having front allied troops focused on the eastern front would be better idea.
1
Federal unions are bound to become brutal dictatorships
1
USA isn't monoculture. There are drastic difference between states.
1
@estebandit0 lol stop pretending. If you actually were curious you would've googled what gdp means when you clearly don't
1
@estebandit0 Gross domestic product, it measures total value of good and service. Literally nothing to do with taxation. And more about productive output that the country has. I just see through you facade.
1
@estebandit0 it's about country's total productive output of goods ans services. Literally nothing to do with taxes. This is too easy
1
@estebandit0 because obviously you're spouting far left pr0-paganda. Trying to make bad case for why rich should be taxed more. Just getting sick and tired of people like you who don't even bother to learn basics of economics and then make bold claims how countries should be. GDP isn't used to evaluate success of the nation. It's used to evaluate economic power. And only extremely naive person would dismiss the impact of economic power when it comes to well being of the citizens.
1
@estebandit0 see you're talking about how society should be run without even having basic understanding about economics
1
@EA-js1me gdp has not to do with dollar
1
@EA-js1me that's petrodollar not GDP measure
1
Modern warfare is less about numbers in people. The issue is energy dependency. Countries like Germany cked themselves and became reliant on blood oil of Russia
1
That is because labor parties are known to be anti-military parties that always cut drastically military spendings. In Finland Tarja Halonen almost destroyed our entire defense line while she got paid by russia
1
Federalise? Every federation ends up in dictatorship. We might as well let Ruzkies invade us if you want to slowly turn us into ruzkies with federation.
1
@johnfrench5279 federatilisation is pathway to dictatorship
1
@tuna-q2g No, the decay happened because some member countries relied on USA's support if war happens and had delusion thought that there would never be a war. As I already made clear, federation is just pathway to brutal dictatorship. We shouldn't follow example of Ruzkia.
1
You're not talking about the negative sides of this. Such as EU army would be used against EU memberstates to keep them in line. Or the issue of corruption when it comes to standardized army. Which would also slow down weapon development due to lack of competition. Not to mention the huge tax increase when EU is already in decline regarding to economy.
1
we should never federalize. It would make us no different from Ruzskia
1
@ElPommbär it's not, it's just a fact that high centralization will eventually alway lead into dictatorship
1
@Exodius3 EU Already isn't democratic but rules by bureaucrats. You act as if people can't read about democracy or the concept is too advanced for normal person to understand it. Again centralization has ALWAYS led to dictatorship
