It only applies if skin color is tanned, brown or black. Anything paler is free estate for them.

@robrobroblol The "text" name your source. Let me guess... Thomas lockey? XD And surname isn't misconception. When becoming samurai the last name was added or changed. This happened literally everytime when there was recorded change of social status. Samurai is caste, it's tied to your family lineage. Your son's can't inherit it unless you actually have family name ;)
