Issue is that Ålanders want to be semi-autonomous. They want to reap the tax benefits and forces Rest of the Finland speak Finnish, but they don't want to contribute to the building up the country and defending it... Reminds me how Sweden had treated Finland for past 600-years. It should be militarized since it works as natural carrier ship that could easily make it living nightmare for ruzkies to invade Finland through ocean.

@Mrstrangert392 Ruzzia doesn't have real exercises and they never held sport like exercise with other countries. Finland made mock battles with other NATO countries. Ruzzia haven't done that and their "exercises" are usually fake and information manipulated so the head doesn't get real information. In fact his is why ruzkiez are incompetent. Finnish government and army are least corrupted on the planet and there is statistics to prove this. Thus Finnish army isn't faking their exercise results.

The forest, swamps, loads of hills and lakes make natural fortress. Plus all cities are designed and regulated in manner that they become natural fortresses during wartime. Tough enough to even withstand nukes. Finnish people never have trusted ruzzians and have been preparing for their invasion for past 70-years while rest of the Europe were delusional enough to think that Ruzzia would never attack anyone.

@slider903 They didn't. Pact they made with germans before WW2 had them claiming entire Finland as their territory. It proves that their goal was to annex entire Finland, not couple villages without population. Not just that but they tried to use same ploy in other countries. All those countries that gave land for loan, ended up being invaded by soviet army when soviets used those parts of the land as launching point of invasion. Soviets claimed and only low IQ people believe this claim of theirs true, that they needed those regions to protect themselves against Germany (it was secret at the time that they were allied with germany). All those regions at the time were critical for Finland security if they wanted to maintain independence. Finland saw through the ploy that other baltics and eastern-europeans didn't. So they refused the offer. Now tell me... Why would ruzzia ask those regions after Germany was defeated if it's excuse to get them was to protect themselves from Germany? It was nothing but excuse to start war and way to save their face from humiliation that Finland had caused to them.

@amehu Let's see... Finland only aligned with Germany AFTER ruzzia invaded Finland. Second, Finland only lost territory that had no value whatsoever. Those regions that Ruzkiez hold no actually have no economic value at all, especially since Ruzzia never invests in regions they annex from other countries. Ruzzia only invests in 3 of their major cities where all the mosconoids exists. Which means... it takes only 3 nukes to wipe out world from mosconoids if someone would decide to do so. But let's look at the facts: In WW2 Finland was new country which was used as colony for both Swede's and Ruzzia. Thus it was still impoverished. Not just that but they had small population number and they just came out from civil war. The kill death Ratio was heavily favoring Finland. Where every single finnish man managed to take 10 Ruzzians before dying. This means 1 Finnish man is at least worth of 10 ruzkies. Imagine struggling against small country like that. It was total humiliation to the red army. Which is why they were begging peace with Finland to not have further embarrassment.

@cassu6 Issue is that it would still lead to war and ruzkiez are known to wipe out civilians from entire towns and villages. While Finnish terrain is 10x bigger nightmare for Ruzzia than Okranian soil. Finnish people still don't want to have unnecessary war. While Ruzkiez would wage war due to overestimating their capabilities.

Finland was only European country that understood that Ruzzia is threat to everyone within past 3 decades. Finnish people have never trusted Ruzzia. Which is why we have armed our nation to the teeth and even fortified our cities and made bunkers capable to withstand nukes.

@cfl_finn4831 Actually when it comes to warfare. Democratic show most efficient armies. Good case and point would be Israel when they fought alone against arab allience of several countries. Democracy means less corruption and more room for meritocracy. While dictatorship breeds corruption. Also rather argue about changes than blindly make whatever some low IQ lead (putin) decides.
