I remember arguing about this when the controversy became public. It felt like I was only sane person who actually checked the wikipedia's edits. There was virtually no information about this guy online before this guy fabricated entire story.

@Intranetusa You just copy pasted the false information here. Reminder... Japan was civilized nation with capability to write. They did keep records of things. If Yasuke had been nobility it would've been mentioned. Instead we have a guy who doesn't even have a surname... and in case you didn't know... When you get into samurai caste, you will get new surname.

Lol since creation of entire mess I were telling that his story was fabricated. People called me crazy for pointing it out that there was literally no information about the character being Samurai until very recently.

@Intranetusa People part of samurai class and people administrating the titles did know how to write. You need to carry side arm with proper katana to be considered as one. Also surname change... He didn't even have a surname.
