+Hedley Quintana No they don't. Left thinks that government should be even bigger. While right says that it should be smaller. Left doesn't still understand what allowed crony capitalism to appear.

+Kamsyah Even where it's illegal, it's still done widely. It can be done through other means than simply with money.

+DaniTheHero That's because jews make him to do it. I blame jews on this one. ;)

Hedley Quintana "I don't think it has to do with the "size" of the government. " Bigger the government is, the more benefits people can get out of bribing government officials. Simple as that. " It has to do with clear rules, and a guaranteed severe punishments against those nasty conducts..." So did soviet union. Yet corruption and bribery was rampart.

thisnotjesus "Big government has nothing to do with corruption, " Huoh... another person who fails to understand nature of corruption. What sort of people want to have power? Usually psychopaths and sociopath. In rare cases normal people. Now if all power is in one place and we have group of people who have morals at all working there. What do you expect to happen? You think they will be goody shoes who won't take bribe money? There is a reason why every communistic revolution has ended up into failed state. Because all power in one place is most easiest place to corrupt.

+Antropovich Only way capitalism can "evolve" into that direction is by adding socialists programs. What you see is not capitalism turning into crony capitalism. What you see is capitalism turning into socialism. This "crony capitalism" exists in every socialistic country on the earth. Where government officials were bought either by careers, office spots, or through money.
4
Antropovich It's not crony capitalism. That whole name is fucking retarded. Because it's only possible to exists if government has socialist elements in it. Crony socialism would fit the term more. BEcause it's government interfering with business. That sort of monopoly is only possible when people are stupid enough to give more power to the government.
3
Antropovich Aka young enough not to realize what socialism was in estonia. In fact you were so young that you barely even understood what was happening when soviets did fall. Again monopoly isn't problem of capitalism. In fact monopoly is easy to deal in capitalism unlike in socialism, where it won't ever disappear. Good example is my country where no one likes ALKO, but government is having monopoly over it. You see voting doesn't help jack shit, especially when the people who you vote in lie about their opinions. " Those arent polar opposites." Capitalism is by defination polar opposite of communism. In communism only government owns business and all the wealth. While in capitalism individuals are free to own their own business and wealth.

Antropovich "I dont "feel". I observe" Good evidence of you not able to think in abstracts. Aka sign of you having low IQ. My point was not that you feel, but my point was why do you think it's important to mention money? "You implied that socialism and capitalism are the opposites" They are, and neither of them have anything to do with money. Socialism is government control over industries and means of production. Capitalism is individuals having control over industry and means of production. "But, Look what countries are most capitalistic and then look what their corruption indexes are. Hint: they dont correlate very highly." Again USA is not capitalistic country. And literally all socialistic countries have high level of corruption. Or are you telling me that north korea, vietnam, china and soviet russia didn't have ridiculously high level of corruption?

Antropovich Read a book about economics. Real monopoly can only be achieved via government control. Unless company itself does everything perfectly, which would mean that monopoly in that's company's part isn't a bad thing at all.
2
Antropovich "A monopoly can arise from a number of ways." But only monopoly created by government is permanent. HUGE DIFFERENCE.
2
Antropovich "But a monopoly created by the government can be dissolved by people being voted out and new people voted into office. THERE IS ALSO A DIFFERENCE." No it can't. Majority people are against many things that governments does, yet nothing changes. Not only this, but with your reasoning same would apply to monopoly in capitalism. PEople can always buy products of new rival. Oh wait but that's too much logic for regressive leftists such as yourself.
2
Antropovich "Do I have to be a economics major during the time of USSR " No, but you would need to be older than 3-year old in order to comprehend how live was under soviets. "I think a monopoly in both capitalism and socialism can be bad for when there is a huge nation." Expect when monopoly under capitalism is doing business badly, then another rival can easily take their place or make things equal. While on socialism or communism it's literally impossible for any rival to arrive. After all, IT'S ALL OWNED BY GOVERNMENT. Which means socialism is always monopoly. Monopoly of the government. Socialism and both communism are monopolies. "In some metrics, they are opposites yes, omg, wow good for you to realize that." I like how you turn that into insult even though just moment ago you said that they aren't. "There are lots of other metrics that they are the same or similar " such as? " One isn't uniquely free in every sense and the other isnt evil in every sense. " Prove it. Prove that capitalism isn't uniquely free. What is there restricting you? "I have of course a better system that outcompetes both. Being smart as I am." doubt that. IF you had better system you would already have nobel prize.
2
Antropovich "Both socialism and capitalism use money. Both use work as a way to pay for your living expenses. Many things are very similar in both systems." Expect in socialism, means and production are decided by government. And please name a single government on this planet that isn't incompetent or corrupt.
1
Antropovich That sentence is said by economists.
1
Antropovich "Ok, companies start to sell their product, All of those companies want a bigger market share. The one who suceeds in outcompeting and buying competitors (or making cartel deals). There is a drive/motive to become a monopoly/cartel.. Explain to me how it is impossible to reach monopoly status in capitalism?" By economy not being static ground. It's decided by people who buy the products. If people don't like products of certain company due it being a "monopoly" then they will buy products from new found company. Also when the prices get too high due being monopoly, and less inventions. Then company that comes in with new inventions or lower prices will change the game. Monopoly is never ever lasting in capitalism. It only lasts as long as it's competent and pleases the customers. Just like it should be. Monopoly by it's definition isn't bad. Just like dictatorship isn't by definition bad. It's as bad as the leader of said company or country. Monopoly is not the problem. Problem is when laws prevent you from creating competition against said monopoly.

+xHaRdStYlExHuNgErx Did you not listen it to the end? Only solution is smaller government. Bernie wants it bigger. Bernie makes it even worse.

Markus FIN "The conservatives are wrong for calling Bernie a socialist or a communist and progressives and Bernie himself are wrong for saying socialism or democratic socialism is working in Nordic countries. " No it's not working in here. Already forgot the depression in our country? Or how sweden is predicted to be third world country's level in two decades? Norway is expection mostly because it's oil reserves. Not only this there was surprisingly a lot economical freedom in our countries. Were still gaining benefit of the past capitalism but it's hindering down overtime due socialism. And let's not forget how our politicians are corrupted. Did you know that they say that their salaries should be high simply so that they can keep campaigning for future elections?

ABaumstumpf The amount of refugees taken in is still too small when compared on budget on large scale. Don't get me wrong, I agree that they take too many refugees, but the economic problems aren't caused by them alone.
1
ABaumstumpf You don't need a lot of people in order to raise crime rate. Were talking about economy now not rape statistics. You basically just committed a red herring argument.
1
@amandaa3713 Umm what? Most third world countries are self-proclaimed communist and socialist nations
1
@amandaa3713 Their country's whole name is literally called as "Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma"

@amandaa3713 wiki disagrees
