Marx wasn't really speaking for anyone. It was about himself like a diary. If you read his history and things he wrote regarding to personal events then you're quick to find it out. He was basically a narcissist.

@pohatuthereactor1693 Russia wasn't backwater country, it just had suffered from defeat in world war 1. Also only thing that changed was industrialization. Which would've happened anyway. Also soviets weren't most prosperous nor most powerful. Neither is china. The people in there are living in houses that are poorly construct and quality of food is bad. They are living in poverty. That is why Chinese people escape to the west whenever they have opportunity to do so.

@pohatuthereactor1693 It really wasn't backwater country, it was an empire even at the time. Also industrialization happened at that time fast everywhere around the globe. Finland for example was quick to pick it up and so was Japan as example. Soviets suffered constant shortages and famines so it really isn't good example of some communist paradise. Not to mention that it was one of the most oppressive regimes in human history. China was starving when it was still officially communists. They adopted market socialism after communism had failed them. With said reform they opened markets to the foreign capitalist companies. People in China are still poor though and only bureaucrats benefited from this change. "explain westerners freely choosing to move to China" They all moved away from there once seeing the truth about the country. I actually follow youtubers who used to live in China. Also you're very ignorant and delusional if you think modern china as communist country.

@pohatuthereactor1693 That's just flat out lie. Finland just gained independence and had civil war. No country had helped them to industrialized. Same with Japan who defeated Russia. The famine was direct causation in communist policies they had implemented. This is well recorded fact. I actually have read his works and video was correct. However left wingers don't read marx, they are like christians who never read their own bible. Don't worry I don't blame you. IT's disgusting thing to read in the first place, assuming that you're human being with a heart.
