Stephen Greenwood USA is mixed economy. Where they mix capitalism with socialism. This always leads into cronyism.

Stephen Greenwood Nope, Cronyism only exists in mixed economy where socialism and capitalism both are used. It's based on the very concept that government interferes with business. Which means that corporations use lobbyist to make laws to benefit their company while hindering competition. It's pretty typical in socialist economies.

+Lewis Benzie America haven't been capitalistic for decades. It seems that you don't even know what capitalism is.
7
+auwli Of course. That is why leftists think that simple solutions like raising the wage would solve the problem. But since it's far more complicated issue, they don't realize that it will actually hurt those who it was suppose to help.

Mr Trugglez "Because there are numerous studies conducted after Minimum wage that shown that the Economy actually grow." Name even one. Also no it doesn't incease growth. With your reasoning minimum wage should be 100000000000 per hour and voila growth everywhere. "The Example of SeaTac, the first place in America with a Minimum wage of $15/hour. At first, Restaurant and hotel owners were screaming that it was a job killer. What actually happened was the Hotels didn't close, the Restaurant didn't close, in fact they're employing more people." Correlation doesn't imply causation. For example increasing the minimum wage inside of your own company can give publicity which increases the amount of people coming to work in there. Plus restoraunts don't compete on international level. They work on local level. Which is why it won't have same effect as on international companies. "The reason why businesses grow is because more money is pumping into the workers, who in turn have more money to spend, which means that the prices can go up and you'll get more capitol from it." Which is negated by increase of prices. Beside the money is circulating constantly so that is just a myth from your part. Again with your reasonin putting minimum wage to 100000000 would make huge growth. "Because there is more money and more capitol flowing." money flows constantly. You're an idiot if you think that rich people sit on top of money.

auwli "Right party is speaking way too short term and only the disadvantages of the workingclass as the employers." That is funny because right party's politics have always helped working class more than left wing which only support elites. Left want to keep workers as powerless babies who need government in order to live. Right wants to make them into adults who take responsibility of their own actions. "While this video doesn't give us any statistics about the US nor European countries" It gives classical argument that has been supported by statictics. "You need evidence before you can say that Minimum Wage is harmfull for all of us." Good argument can act as evidence. And we already have empirical evidence that some companies simply will collapse due not having enough resources to pay workers. "See European countries or even better the Scandivan countries." I live in there and they are suffering economically.
4
scotaloo7 7g7 As I said, left wing only stands for the "elite". 1% and political elite gain most benefits from minimum wage. Large corporations lobby for minimum wage in order to get rid of competition. While politicians want it to happen in order to create dependency on government.

Stephen Greenwood There are no different types of capitalism. It's clear to me that you don't even understand what capitalism is.
4
Stephen Greenwood Capitalism is economic system where means of wealth and business is privates without government intervention. It's no longer capitalism if state interferes.
4
Stephen Greenwood Not a single defination mentions anything about profit. Business for profit simply makes more sense than creating business that cannot even sustain itself. Profit is irrelevant for defination of capitalism. So far I haven't seen any dictionary talking anything about profit. Also the defination you provided contradicts your belief. Because it's still all about private ownership without government interfering. Anywhere where government intereferes will be mixed economy or outright socialism.
4
Stephen Greenwood "Capitalism is characterized by private ownership of the factors of production." See nothing mentioned about profit. "Real-world capitalist systems are mixed" Only because government's nature is to increase it's power. Sad that you didn't even realize that the citations you provided actually proved you wrong.

***** They name long time unemployed as different in some cases and don't count students as those. Here in Finland if you're unemployed you will usually try to get into school to study something. Hence you're counted as student instead of unemployed.
4
It's example taught in every economic class. You're total idiot if you think that raising salary wouldn't have any affect on how business behaves. "A factory worker would have been a better example... since you know.. "kid who mows lawn" isn't really covered under wage laws" depends on which country's laws you're talking about.
3
Demockracy Complaining about grammar proves that you're an idiot. It shows that you are so stupid that you think that whole world speaks english as first language. "and no it's not the example "taught in every economic class". " It's taught in all of those. Name even one economist with good argument why it doesn't hurt economy.
3
auwli "I see taxes being reduced in the US to stimulate the economy," Yes? It's empirical evidence that lower taxes actually stimulate the economy. You don't find economist who disagrees with that. "Left is more about equal chances while right is more about equal treatments." Nope, left is about everyone should have equal result. Left supports mediocrity while right supports meritocracy. "No it doesn't." name even one economist who agrees with you. "The main objective is marco economy, not micro or meso." non-sensical words. You sound like creationist talking about micro and macro evolution. Get to the point.
3
Stephen Greenwood Encyclopedia britannica: Capitalism, also called as free market economy, or free enterprise economy, economic system, dominant in the western world since the breakup of feudalism, in which most of the means of production are privately owned and productions is guided and income distributed largely through the operation of the markets. Nothing about profit mentioned here.
3
Stephen Greenwood It's not matter of paying attention because Youtube doesn't show me other comments unless I click "see previous ones". "regardless of that I guess you must be correct over the 6 or 7 economists listed in the sources." And most of those books didn't even agree with your view and one of them didn't define capitalism as something that seeks profit, but stated that it's typical that business tries to gain profit. "You should immediately contact Mensa as well as inform the NNC about your fantastic new theories about capitalism and profit!" Theory that has been supported by most economist already and is already supported by enclypedia as you asked me to quote it instead.

666j1 Germany is currently leeching all the benefits from EU. You should actually study more what has been happening in Europe. German is pretty much gains most benefits out of it. Hence they are able to have more jobs. As overall most other european countries growth has been in decline.
3
scotaloo7 7g7 Well they are paid by one of the governments who breaks human rights... And Cenk keeps denying armenian genocide.
2
It doesn't. In case you wonder. I'm european.
2
***** employment number is lower and real unemployment number would be higher as well. So in order to actually count unemployment. You should count on how many percent of population is actually employed and then see what is left.
2
Demockracy "wasn't complaining about your grammar I was merely pointing out that one should make sure his statement is spelled correctly before hurling insults about intellectual capacity. Not a complaint just an observation." And I made statement that you need to be an idiot for thinking that grammar tells anything about intellectual capacity. Which makes your point null and retarded. "It's not the example taught in "all of those" have you even taken ECON? I have." I have and I have studied on it a lot. Not only that but all world renowed economist state the same as I. In fact this was argument used by nobel prize winner Milton Friedman. "Also my first language is French, so..." Again this only proves how stupid you are. You see grammar in French is more similar to English than grammar in Finnish.

windwaker0rules 100 000 an hour can actually be less than hundreds thousands of your workers getting that extra 1 per hour. Also CEO earn a lot because there aren't many people who can handle that job well. IF they lower their wages. Highly talented CEO's will simply change company to one with higher wages.
1
Demockracy OH I can do the same in real life. It's not about being "powerful with anonymity" few idiots like you have got smacked pretty hard after they tried to indimidate me in that. You see I know pretty well your type. Whenever someone complains about anonymity they are doing so because they cannot support their claim hence they want to rely on indimidation and threats instead. Little do they know. The typical guy who debates online might actually be tought on real life as well. "all but you're clearly on the lower half of the IQ scores giving your unwarranted hostility." Says guy who's very comment on this channel had unwarranted hostility. "you and I likely agree that a higher minimum wage is not a good thing but your small intellect wont get past the outrage you felt about my comment lol" So far only one who is having outrage is you :D. I simply pointing out that you were idiot for those few reasons. Objectively an idiot.

Mr Trugglez "See does china have the highest GDP in the world?" GDP doesn't address the wealth of the nation or the buying power of the people. Also there is minimum wage in china. In fact china is your dream country. Where everything is heavily regulated by the government.
1
Joshua Egan Well unions are problem for individuals. You see they usually enforce some rules etc, that people can't make their own bargain. For example they cannot compete with other workers by lowering their own wage.
