Libya was just making no-flight zone to cover civilians from carpet bombing and Syria wasn't invaded either but it was about fighting ISIS. Same foe that Syrian government fought against as well. Nato played no parts of any of these conflicts. Not just that but USA didn't try to annex any of these nations either.

Most of that coast can't be used. Only part that is usable is right next to Finland and Norway. Meaning that they can storm that region in less than couple hours and ensure that those ports won't be used.

We always saw Russia as evil country. Thing is that there wasn't clear pattern when Georgian war had happened. But now with Ukraine it's obvious that Russia tries to rebuild it's lost empire. For Finland this was best timing to join since Russia failed in it's war with Ukraine, and is now too occupied with Ukraine to make military response against Finland.

To be more precise. Russia's first mistake was to commit to bully diplomacy over being actually friendly with neighbors. None of these countries would've joined NATO if they didn't feel threatened by Russia.
