It's as mysterious as chatGP. nothing mysterious, just evolutionary mechanics for survival.

The layers just make calculation more complex, it doesn't grant free will.

@Revoltition It's not matter of "want". Life did develop by a chance. You're going now to god of the gaps fallacy while thinking yourself as smart when spouting such obvious fallacies.

@_Sloppyham we do. It's not thinking at all. Just look how it plays chess. It can't even comprehend the rules and apply them.

Determinism isn't excuse for doing crime.

@Revoltition Yes I need to be rude to you since you're making childish comments and questions. Not everything needs reason or ultimate goal for existing.

@idk-jw6xl I can when they make stupld questions that usually are asked by 5-year olds

@philak Everything about A.I is prescripted by programmer. Sundar Pichai was just talking bs.

Quantum mechanics as argument just shows how Iow someone's lQ is. Unless you believe that you have magical ability to affect on how atoms react on Quantum level. Not to mention that those mechanics seems random only because we can't observe them any better with our current technology. Basically god of gaps argument. Reminder... These quantum "random changes" were tested with inanimated objects. Does that mean that lasers used in these tests were having free will? Simply put... if you use quantum physics as argument for free will, then you have to admit that literally every object and Atom has free will. Also combination of different aspects of you doesn't mean free will. It just means that calculations for determinism becomes more complex.

free will is irrelevant to justice system. Same with determinism.

That's pretty much elementary school NPC logic.
