Oners82 Actually it also works on experts too. Beside now you're moving the goalpost. Just before you said that fallacy like that doesn't exists. Experts can lie or are you saying that they can't? If so then it's fallacy. 1. You don't need to take kaku's position to have some silly beliefs over free will as you just did show previously. 2. So according to you. YOU MUST TELEPORT out of existence and appear somewhere at some point? You really don't understand quantum and the fact that you say that you understand undermines everything you have said here. so you're going to ignore rest of my rebuttals. What a joke you are. Committing an ad hominem attack instead of addressing arguments, and calling your opponent as ignorant even though that is something that ignorant people resort to. "Until you do a lot of research don't bother responding, I will no longer entertain your idiotic false assertions that are predicated upon scientific illiteracy." I have PhD in physics. Now by your own reasoning I should be superior to you. Will you know admit that you were wrong?

Tacos Buenos Biggest mistake ever. One of the rules of internet is never leave anything there which people can use to track you down. There are lunatics in here, and Oners82 seems to be one of them by judging his behavior. Not to mention one can just find degree from internet and post it here and claim that it's theirs.

Martin Staykov Only if you have power to control quantum on your will. But as everyone who actually is educated, knows that it's the quantum which controls us not the other way around. If free will would really exists then we wouldn't have so many mental diseases which contradict the whole concept of free will. Is a man with a tourette syndrome man who has free will? Even though when he is forced against his "will" to throw curse words every now and then?
2
Martin Staykov Give defination of a free will. OR just think about your understanding of it. Does a person/object have a free will if it cannot controls his or her thoughts and actions? " Tourette's is a disability, it hinders your brains ability to perform well, so yes it limits your free will, doesn't mean it negates it. " According to definition of free will is something outside of physical boundaries. Hence it can't be limited by diseases. Admitting that X can affect your free will is already same as admitting that free will doesn't actually exists. "Having free will doesn't mean I can do whatever the fuck I want. " Actually it does mean that you can do what ever the fuck you want. Without anything affecting on your decisions. "I can't move mountains with my thought, that doesn't mean I don't have free will" I never claimed that you could do that with free will. What you just described would be more close to omnipotent. " To have free will means my future actions cannot be predicted with a 100% certainty, even in theory." It seems that you're not even educated on this subject. Free will means that you choose your actions, and no other thing can affect on your decision. I assume that you're not familiar with concept of ghost in machine. That is what people believe when they believe in free will. They believe that they magically can go against laws of physics.

Yeah everyone who tries to justify freedom of will because of quantum physics has some issues with philosophy. If it's random, then what makes him to think that humans have this magical ability to decide how it behaves with quantum physics. And in that case it would imply that even rocks have free will. Since quantum physics apply to them too. It's all based on the fact that we don't understand quantum physics yet. It's why they think it's random, but in reality if it would be random enough to affect decision making and laws of physics. Then everything would be too chaotic. Items destroyed for not good reason, and law of physics just changing because quantum decided not the be where it should be.

Oners82 Thank you for proving everyone in here that you don't understand physics.

Oners82 There are biology professors who don't believe in natural selection. Argument from authority doesn't make you look smart, in fact the opposite. If you say that quantum physics gives free will. Then there are couple problems that idiot like you haven't figured out yet. 1. We still don't understand quantum physics and anyone who claims they know is lying. Were only studying it currently and everything around it is just hypotheses that were testing. In other words you're basically using argument from ignorance to justify free will. 2. Implying that free will comes from quantum physics is ridiculous. You're basically saying that no laws of nature suddenly work just because Quantum act weird when we try to observe them. You're basically saying that all the suddenly your house can disappear from this world and teleport to the ocean just because Quantum are playing around. Their behavior doesn't have so big effect that it would actually affect us in physical level. 3. You're implying that you have power to decide when Quantum appear and when not if you claim that free will exists because of this. Unless you can decide how the Quantum behaves then you don't' have free will. Then your will is just decided by random factors which you have no control over. 4. Quantum also affects rocks. Do rocks now have free will? Having physics PhD doesn't make you smart nor philosopher it just means that you have studied subject.

***** mmm no? What made you think so? I think I did tag oners82 here.

Oners82 You just said research more and come back. I just stated I have PhD yet you ignored it when it didn't fit to your world view. Also no, I won't fuck off just because you're ignorant person who doesn't believe in freedom of speech.

Tacos Buenos Why don't you actually provide arguments for it instead of just trying to insult?
1
errans Problem is that most people don't even know the real definition which is why always need to confirm what they believe free will even is. Random behavior for example isn't free will. Which is why Martins reasoning "can't be predicted" fails. He can't predict what side of the dice lands on the ground if I throw it. Does that mean that dice has free will? Or the calculations needed to determine which side will it land is too complex for a normal human mind to comprehend?
1
Martin Staykov http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/free%20will ": the ability to choose how to act : the ability to make choices that are not controlled by fate or God" It's the definition of free will, unless you want to argue against whole world that your definition is the real one. and yes it's the one referred in the video. The whole name of video indicates to that discussion.
1
Martin Staykov Actually behavior of birds and insects is much more easier to predict than humans. Simply because they are less complex beings when it comes to the brain structure and intelligence. In fact it's possible to even "mind control" them with our current technology. Heck there is even one parasite which hijacks ant's ability to move and moves it by the will of parasite. Also it wasn't unrelated what I said. I just tried to explain to you. Yet you failed to address my point over dices.

The whole base of "everything is happening because small chance" is all based on the fact that we don't understand quantum physics yet. Also it's ridiculous to assume that free will exists because of this quantum physics. He is assuming that humans have some how ability to affect how those particles work. Not to mention it really needs to have huge chance in order to be irregular from deternism. Changes which existence would make any structure and life form unstable by their very nature. Aka the glass bowl you have would break up without any good reason. If world would be as random as Michio Kaku things then this sort of random evens should happen more frequently.

@AS-ym6lk lets see... you are literally fired from you job if people know you're republican. You will be harrased by mob and assaulted.... Meanwhile democrats who currently hold dictatorship level of power, are calling for "re-education" camps, jailing the opposition and support social media censorship.

Broader context: Israel has consistently advocated for two state solution and has never started any of the conflicts in the region.

Psychopath wouldn't chuck the fat guy to the other side... Simply because they wouldn't give a shit what happens to other people. Seriously... in a real situation why would someone like that even bother to safe anyone?
1
@bohansenboh since when it was gnocide to defend your people from gnocide?
1
@ginnylin so why are you supporting gnocide of jws?

@jonathano.7109 its logical end result if the wishes of "pro-Palestinians" would be implemented
