If something concept of soul mates is big reason why relationships will break down. I remember that few years back girl who already had boyfriend was ready to leave him for me because she believed I was her "soul mate". Of course I didn't go and ruin their relationship, but when I think about it.... Feelings tend to faint during time, and when you meet new person who makes you fall in love, you start immediately see him/her as your soulmate, even when you thought same about previous one.

How about those people just match with each others well? This doesn't have anything to do with being soulmates. Heck even some parents tend to die to depression after they lose their child, was that soul mate thing too? It's already proven anyway that love is nothing more than a chemical activity in your brain. It's a drug. There are people ready to kill and die for drugs, and so there are people ready to die and kill for love.
