Actually Russia would definately make attacks on Ukraine. Those minerals are vital for modern technology. Right now only country providing enough of it is China. You know... country that is enemy of USA. It's literally checkmate for USA if Ukraine loses. Why is it that right wingers in USA are bad looking far ahead?

Nope, the thing is... Europeans know very well that Russia can't be trusted. We have long history with them and experienced it personally thousands of times. We know that Russia will invade again the moment they see opportunity for it. That is literally how they became so big in the first place.
