@knerduno5942 haha yeah, as a European, this notion that it even is a consideration to not know Spanish is so puzzling to me. Now imagine learning Arabic, wallah that's different.

now that would be wild :).

it might be even better to feed a hungry kid after some chores are done though. You might call it child labor, but it really isn't.
3
dismissing him outright without seriously considering that he might be right as just as bad as if he was wrong about what he said.
3
@ronashah872 "... but for a man to think feeding children for free somehow means they're spoiled and have no work ethic is laughable." But that is not what he claimed. So yes, literally you are dismissing what he is saying outright without actually considering what he is saying.
3
@kylehardy7519 already got the highest grade in my uni course about logic etc. so you'll have to work just a little harder on that attempted insult.
3
"Farmers and ranchers are more dependent on government help than almost any other profession out there." That is different though. There is a difference between helping people and helping people help themselves. "This obsession with "not relying on government" is nothing but uneducated BS. Modern societies need government." Terrible logical argument for someone who likes o speak about "uneducated" things.

abusing is a strong word, but let me tell you that there is a limit to what is sensible to the opposite of abusing. Not being able to grab a kid without losing your job, that is too much.

@christopherleslie4593 during summer break? He didn't contest the value of school lunch, he talked about breakfast as something out of the ordinary.
2
@christopherleslie4593 summer school could have chores :). Sure, be more worried about that, but that doesn't mean that there might not be negative consequences giving away food for free.
2
you don't have to pay for it, but people have had to work for it for our entire existence.
2
@ronashah872 no, he mentioned it as a part of it. Listen at 10:14 again and you'll notice him saying "well for one...". That means it is just one thing among many. I know it is easy to exaggerate what other people say and then dismiss that, it is much harder to actually accurately represent the person's words that you address, but it is worth it.
2
it is always easy to assume the worst of other people to make you feel less bad about yourself.
2
@gretchenjohnson696 but you assumed the worst? :)
2
yeah, and at some point the us has to make it less easy for the cartels to earn money.
2
@stinkletoes8285 empathy rarely make good policies, rationality does.
2
and...?
2
@christsciple "Go ahead, tell me about how modern societies can exist without government." Never, ever, ever did I claim it could work without governments. If you reply, at least try to understand what I am saying.
2
@christsciple not at all, all you had to do was to interpret what I wrote reasonably. The terrible logic was saying that the claim that people rely too much on the government "is nothing but uneducated BS" because "Modern societies need government.". When he says they rely too much on it, he actually states that it is OK to rely on it to some degree, hence the "Modern societies need government." does not even contest the claim.

as someone who has watched quite many videos (but not even close to all of course) I wonder if these are the first few videos I have seen showcasing any white people :P.
1
he is not having a talk about history mate.
1
@kylehardy7519 fascinating response. Please elaborate.
1
reminds me of what China did to Hong Kong to take it over.

100%
1
@gretchenjohnson696 do you disagree with what I wrote?
1
@BriansFunHouse well, you can also just stop buying what they are selling :)
1
and you just blamed him?
1
@stinkletoes8285 there are some smart people, yes.
1
@christsciple "If you meant to reference the cowboy in the video, then you should have." I was referencing you, your argument, your logic. You were referring to what he said, that is why I talk about what he said. Simple things bud. You are embarrassing.
1
@christsciple "Here we go again. I had asked you to explain the basis of your statement and why felt mine was illogical." I did. Did you miss that post? Seriously, did you miss it? Really, look through the conversation again, my response is literally there. Bud. Here it is again bud: The terrible logic was saying that the claim that people rely too much on the government "is nothing but uneducated BS" because "Modern societies need government.". When he says they rely too much on it, he actually states that it is OK to rely on it to some degree, hence the "Modern societies need government." does not even contest the claim. Read it this time, bud.
