"... instead of celebrating that such a thing can grace the mountain, people call the the metaphorical devil and want nothing to do with it. This is a shameful display." So true. I can't believe how anyone could think that it would be anything than a true celebration of the sacred ground.

@CockatooDude indeed, and I doubt that the indigenous people will benefit from the bad rep they will get from the cancellation. I for sure won't forgive them, and I will hold a grudge.

@CopernicusThinker and they only want to build there because it is among the absolutely best places to build. Not sure how the most noble of sciences would desecrate the sacred ground. If anything, it should be the opposite.

@amylouise9853 honestly, it is just stupid to be against building it. No one really owns the Earth, so to claim a spot for yourself for selfish reasons is as I said, just stupid.

There are few, if any, better places to build. Tall mountain, little light pollution, not totally isolated and supposedly it has some benefit due to being relatively cold as well.
