yea, like, what was the point of commenting on Gigafactory being connected to the grid?
2
@jean6453 biking is great. If you saw the movie, you may have noticed that there was a bunch of climate protesters who all had bikes.
2
the film also fails to answer the question "What is the "true" cost of going green?"
1
how close do you think they came to mentioning it? I.e. what do you think is the closest thing they said about that topic?
1
to ask one specific thing. Did you not think Gigafactory was connected to the grid?
1
if you think that, you didn't interpret the film correctly.
1
@Avatar_Brandy he is probably too connected to stupid people, who think this movie is preparing people for population control. There is a significant amount of people who think the deep state is working on this.
1
@aa2ll260 maybe it is very different for me who lives in Sweden, but the primary message of the green movement I have seen throughout my life has been reduce consumption.
1
Moore has a solid point, but it is expressed EXTREMELY poorly in the movie. I agree with Moore but considered not continuing watching because it was so dishonest.
1
why do you think he talked about Gigafactory being connected to the grid as a bad thing?
1
@sleepyfish 8% efficiency on solar panels?
1
@jean6453 perfect should not be the enemy of good. I am fine if we massively reduce our output of CO2, I won't go on a murder spree just becuase we don't get 100% carbon neutral.
1
yet he is still more genuine than the film creators :P.
1
the problem is that we have this issue not because of the left, but because of the right, which you now seem to support. Ironic, huh?
1
so you think that asking media to do retractions is bad as well? To remove lies from reporting is bad?
1
not sure what you mean.
1
@zeidenmedia for me it depends on the implementation and I bet it is the same for Sensei Rich. E.g. when my uncle is thinning the what-we-call-production-forest to increase the effectiveness, the cut trees are usually too thin to make planks of, so they are often sent to a biomass energy facility. Other times we take the wood and burn for heating our house and water, which is (obviously) more efficient than burning it for electricity. Not everything cut down is removed though, as it is important for the biome to have trees slowly rotting on the ground.
1
@friendsandindustry the disappointment comes in part from a lack of quantifying those things. If we e.g. don't know how much X is needed to be mined for every wind power plant, how do we know it is even bad compared to other things? This is where a power-point movie can be a lot more informative.
1
they only do it because they can, and they can because of crappy politicians, and we have crappy politicians because we have a people who do not care. Riding a bike is still a good thing for the environment.
1
but you agree that Hydro power emits less CO2 per produced MWh than coal power, right?
