  2.  @DarkManSonian  you (I assume) guys have it easy though. The Swedish word for billion actually mean 1,000,000,000,000. We have a "modified" word for a thousand millions (and the French as well, and probably many more. It is sort of the correct thing, although I actually prefer the American way). Anyway, when doing quick math and translation we sometimes mess up, but I doubt the MSNBC people can use that excuse :D.

  6. it should be impossible to be a journalist without at least some skills in math. How can you analyze society without that? Data and number crunching is almost everything.

  8. it is important. Journalists are supposed to inform us, not disinform. How could we ever expect them to understand a budget or any calculation if they don't realize this error?

  10.  @jackmiller3246  it is still indefensible. Only defense would be to misspeak or such, but that is not the case here. He should instantly realize that 1 million dollars for each American is an insane amount of money.
