it cost a lot of money, unless I recall incorrectly they had an airplane take that footage (if I do, it ought to be an autonomous boat). They took that footage when they needed the information to perfect the procedure, which they don't need anymore so they don't spend money on it. They are improving the onboard camera though, these days the feed is continuous more often than not.

@xFirstAidx "Again, the whole point is to demonstrate the landing ability of the crafts." That is not the whole point. They show what they can of the footage they already capture for their own sake, without giving away too juicy details to competitors. "They are filming the landings of the crafts from multiple angles accurately, considering they release the footage to the public days later." What footage are you talking about? I haven't seen such footage from any recent launch. Give an actual example of this. "Someone could idle in a helicopter, and live stream the landing through a phone on YouTube or Facebook for free." But what does the helicopter cost to get out there? That is the cost I am talking about. "They make it so easy for conspiracy theorist." Does anyone really care what conspiracy theorists think? It is a fools errand to spend money in the attempt to convince space related conspiracy theorists about what is real. "Every time." It seems they have managed to improve the situation a bit, many booster landings have not had their feed cut out recently. I presume you haven't watched any of the recent landings? If you want to have a look at them, just open the streamed videos from spacex's yt-channel and jump to around mission time 8:30 or so, that is usually when the landing takes place. Here is the latest one: https://youtu.be/KU6KogxG5BE?t=1513

@xFirstAidx while I wait for you references, I'll just point out that: "The Falcon 9’s first stage will target a landing on SpaceX’s drone ship “Just Read the Instructions” in the Atlantic Ocean nearly 400 miles (630 kilometers) northeast of Cape Canaveral." https://spaceflightnow.com/2020/06/03/timeline-for-falcon-9-launch-with-starlink-satellites/ "As a general rule, helicopters usually fly around 2.5 to 5 hours before they have to stop and refuel. This translates to a distance of roughly 250 miles ... Many helicopters with no reserve are able to fly at 5000 feet for nearly 600 miles at a time." https://www.aircraftcompare.com/blog/how-far-can-helicopters-fly/ Adding on to the cost, what is the added risk to life? Looking at this tweet though: https://twitter.com/spacex/status/718628506230370308 It seems it was a chase plane they used, not helicopter. Chase plane was also used for the splash down of the Crew Dragon capsule recently iirc.

@xFirstAidx speaking of all this, cool footage of the faring capture from this week's launch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTH3mq7SsK4 And again uninterrupted footage of the landing: https://youtu.be/jTMJK7wb0rM?t=1414

was going to say the same, so I'll just comment here instead :).

does it matter if people think it is a con? The good thing with people being vocal about the conspiracy's they believe we know who we can't trust.
