tbh I am not so sure about controlled, it seems like they had an issue with attitude control. That might also be why they didn't do the starship upper stage raptor relight in space. Still a great test, but it would have been phenomenal with raptor relight and a proper re-entry test.

@fatroberto3012 I must have missed the barbecue maneuver talk, are you sure that is about Starship? I would not be surprised if that could be something about the Dragon capsule, because that do ring a bell and it seems very foreign to me regarding Starship.

the guest was very positive.

@emirhanyagcioglu6980 I was quite surprised with how wobbly super heavy was when it got close to the ground.
2
@karatsurba4791 yeah people are too used to negative reporting that they can't fathom this lovely lady guest being super pumped about the test :).
2
@BarrGC I would say that the "definition" of space in this context would be something related to "micro-G" as in the introduced challenge of relighting the engines that comes of that compared to e.g. booster sep.
2
@BarrGC oh yeah, surviving re-entry has been that one main daunting task ever since the conception! I really hope we get a goo attempt at it next time :).
2
@justanobody0 every test is more successful than the last one. Eventually you will have a functional rocket and a great one if those failures came from pushing the envelop really hard, which is what they are doing.
2
people are overly critical, this was perfectly fine reporting in terms of tone.
1
@justanobody0 like the shuttle? You just don't want to do that, you want to do that cheaply.
1
depends on how you define it. Yeeting a person to Mars is not impossibly difficult, it just requires massive effort and determination.
1
too low energy density.
