  4.  @Alritealritealrite  you want to protect yourself in your home there isn't a better weapon than a shotgun, you want to hunt there are a ton of hunting rifles, you want an easy to carry self defense there are plenty of hand guns. However if you want to mow down random people without aiming as mass murders do then there is only one answer, assault style rifles. Bottomline
