This incident is minor compared to many I have seen, sure the cop jumped to conclusions based on race but I didn't see him step out of line other than to say he didn't know them and assumed they were up to no good based on race. But I still believe it was minor because he didn't create an altercation or arrest them for no reason, just a cop making a bad assumption imho

@yishnir I grew up in the 70s and this was always the way the cops acted, it wasn't just race it was the length of your hair or the type of clothes you wore. I'm not saying that this cop wasn't racially profiling these guys but the statement he made about them not belonging there may have meant he had not seen them in the neighborhood before. Should he lose his job, no. Should he be re educated or retrained, definitely. They need programs within the police department to teach them how to behave in their jobs not firings for saying something stupid
