  1.  @fabiolean  Fairbanks, Alaska makes me hopeful in this regard. It gets stupid cold in the winter (-40° is common) so it’s pretty standard for cars there to have plug-in engine block heaters (keeps the fluids flowing, reduces wear on the engine). To accommodate this, many offices and even grocery stores built electric outlets into their parking lots.
