Only the lines with markers (little squares and triangles) try to predict the storm’s path. Exactly zero of those lines touch Alabama. Those thin lines flying out every which way are for other data like temperature and atmospheric pressure. Even if you count those (which you shouldn’t), that’s three out of about thirty. To be fair to Mr. Trump (assuming there was some intention of truth), that map is meant for meteorologists; if I were going to talk to laymen about potential paths, I’d summarize it as a “cone” diagram like they do on the news.
