I only detected one correct statement in all of that - "the British people have had enough....."

It’s heartening to see normal, everyday people, making a stand.

If Lineker wants to run for public office, he can crack on. But in the meantime, he shouldn't be allowed to use his tax-payer funded platform to voice his political opinions.

The only thing that these demonstrations have achieved is to shine a light on the scale of the problem we now face in the UK, due to years of immigration from certain parts of the world.
77
In fact, I don’t think I have seen the phrase ‘far left’ used by the MSM…..EVER!
76
@rubixcube1996 But Malaysians are not in the UK waving Palestine flags and chanting Allahu Ackbar
47
@richardgallagher4880 We were let down by politicians yet again.
30
Is this why the Mayor of London doesn’t feel safe or is it because someone was nasty to him online?
29
@adamfoofighters And one wonders how much his popularity is now down to the demographics of the city. In 2021 36.8% were white British. And that will have changed since then
25
When? I swear to god, the standard of education in this country has plummeted
20
A figure the government will never tell you.
18
@spazzymacgee5648 His military service and character demonstrate otherwise, but being petty is probably what drives you.
15
We don’t have enough cops already. Standing army? Where from?
15
As a retired bobby, I agree with most of the sentiments expressed here. Rank and file police officers need to be ordered not to show political bias, nor demonstrate support to fringe or self interest groups. If they do, they need to be disciplined. I also regularly see police officers who look like a bag of sh*t - unshaven, no head dress, long hair, overweight. No wonder the word 'respect' is missing from our lexicon when we have discussions about British police these days.
13
@JH-ck1nr And it never has existed. In fact the majority of 'Palestine' is occupied by the state of Jordan. No one says anything about that.
12
There will be a press conference soon with his uncle who is a lawyer, blaming the police.
11
I agree. Policing in the UK does need to go back to basics, and police officers need to act and dress and perform their duties in accordance with the Peelian Principles and the public's expectations. Officers are the personification of the law and they need to stop pandering to the latest fad, group, or their own personal bias. The senior chain of command also need to inject more discipline and stop morphing into the political animals that they have become. Systems and processes are too complex and need to be streamlined, thus allowing more police to get out of the office and on the street. Finally, we need more of them, they need to be more visible, and they need to be more approachable.

If there is one good thing that has come out of recent events in the Middle East, its the demonstration of the scale of the growing threat that exists inside our own country, from the Islamists who are already here.
10
If there is a problem of safety in the city for which he is responsible, then he needs to work harder!
8
Thank god you are employed and have no position of authority
7
@Abdullah97484 No. We like Ukrainians. There is a difference.
7
He was assaulted! For flips sake!
7
I don’t think the Royal Navy has the reach to stop minor unrest in London, sunshine.
7
We have to say no more. Beating ourselves up has to stop.
6
@T5Zplayer And yet this does NOT excuse indiscriminate attacks on Israeli civilians in this case. To suggest otherwise is crass.
5
The original Peelian Principles touted by the College of Policing state that the police must look: "To seek and preserve public favour, not by pandering to public opinion, but by constantly demonstrating absolutely impartial service to law." Although an awful lot of individual officers abide by this general principle, as a corporate body, UK police are not doing enough to address the damage that is being done to its reputation by the members who don't.
5
A peaceful protest with faces covered, hey? Take your hate and go back home!
5
What a crock! I’ve served for 30 years and you and I can disagree about whether I’m a so called ‘true Brit’ or not!
4
51% of the population appear to be quite content to let this ridiculous situation pass them by.
4
Maybe South Africa can cover his legal costs?
4
Time to clear house. How about leaving then fellahs?
4
@ImJeremybear Repositioning the deck chairs on the Titanic! The Border Force didn’t need a new command structure, they just need effective government
4
Gideon Falter is a clown who clearly set up this whole confrontation. Unfortunately, the police officer on the day fell right into the trap, but to blame the Met Commissioner, or call for his resignation, is frankly ludicrous.
4
@LenovoProGaming Ukraine didn’t attack Russia and Israel didn’t attack Gaza on Oct 7. Aggression in both cases.
3
More armed police please!
3
Respect to you Nana. Common sense as always!
3
You are talking sense as usual Nana. Please do keep it up.
3
Well said Kemi. It is nice to see a politician stand up for common sense.
3
People have a right to demonstrate here in the U.K., and no matter how much I disagree with their standpoint, as long as it remains peaceful, they should be allowed to do so. That’s the democracy that I have spent thirty five years defending.
3
Yet another open and unashamed black racist.
3
And this is what happens when diversity and inclusion fails, primarily because we are being over-run.
3
What a sad state of affairs. The lunatics are running the asylum these days.
3
We don’t need conscription. We need to invest in a larger professional military! That includes a decent standard of living and appropriate pay and allowances!
3
Well said mate.
3
Good riddance to the woman!
2
The police are trying to do a difficult job under difficult circumstances. Constantly blaming the rank and file is a lazy option
2
Hear hear.
2
History demonstrates we are not safe in our country. We have people who live amongst us, who wish both the U.K., and the wider western world, harm.
2
She and her supporters obviously want her to be portrayed as a poor misguided child in order to get her back to the UK. It won't wash. She planned and schemed to go over there, and then elected to stay to become a baby making factory for ISIS. This wasn't an innocent mistake. It was a series of calculated decisions, taken over a period of time, and absolutely illustrates her intent to join and remain loyal to that evil organisation.
2
@tariqjoseph3562 Oh stop crying. This is the real world we live in.
