  1. Simon, you are being selective in your interpretation again. The Bomber Command raids in mid May 1940 against targets in Germany were in support of defensive operations in the low countries. The RAF targeted various factories, rail and oil installations located in and around German cities. The RAF did NOT set out to bomb "German cities," per se. The fact that bombs killed civilians in and around those legitimate military targets can be attributed to the limitations of the equipment being used at the time.
