  2. FWIW, it's a diversity visa so if your country already has a reasonably high level of other kinds of immigration to the US, the allocation is lower.

  3. I disagree with John Oliver more often than not but this is a very good summary of the legal immigration system in the US.

  4.  @mothwise7918  I actually quite like Oliver but preferred when he was on The Daily Show and Jon Stewart strove to keep things balanced (though still left-leaning). This is all stuff I am fairly familiar with though, having been through the system. (Interesting fact: The diversity visa is linked with our current used of the word "spam" in technological circles).

  6. Minority Report the movie actually goes totally against the message of the book. The book is a lot better too. P.K.Dick was a genius at mindfuckery.
