  2. Wait, wait... Can we revisit this tidal forces deforming the earth by up to 500ft? That's insane. The sea is much more conforming to tidal forces. We'd be having worldwide tsunami-style tides twice daily. Did he fall asleep watching Interstellar? Edit: Britannica says "Few are aware, however, that the solid body of Earth also experiences twice-daily tides with a maximum amplitude of about 30 centimetres."
