I could get behind this if it ended in a dance-off.

@airynod They should have worked a little bit harder and came up with backronyms for BC and AD then everyone would have been happy. CE and BCE seem unnecessarily deliberately antagonistic.

@PrivateSi You're going to shove a year zero into the calendar? That should be fun.
7
@sigurdfenrisson2446 That sounds like a book in its own right.
4
@airynod Yes. Why force people to have to choose and advertise a side? It's antisocial.

Sounds like someone needs to be downloading these videos as soon as they go up. I understand most YouTubers don't get this 'edit in place' functionality.

The WWDITS thing is based on vampires hiding away from society and being out of touch. It also reflects a bit on how we all tend to cling to aspects of our past as we age (80s music was the best. Fight me). But importantly for the show, it allows them to use a lot of "fish out of water" humor. It's worth noting too that the show does include a lot of more modern acclimated vampires (Colin Robinson himself being an example).

@jl453k2 It's also about current-dayism. Sharing a room or even a bed has not always had the sexual connotations we've come to give it these days.

@jellyfishjones4741 And they may have been women that just liked the male aesthetic. With all the fuss about social constructs you think that would be a fairly obvious option. Tomboys are being brushed under the carpet.
2
@EbonyPope I would agree that a lot of the male vampires are that way but would counter that there's a lot that aren't too. Obviously, recent times is a special case but in the broader scope, it might be interesting to look at how vampires are represented and how that divides down between intended audiences and whether authors and directors are male or female (and other possible filters). I don't think there's a broad-brush that can be used.

@ivantumanov1015 I just use seconds since January 1st 1970.

Elmo, on the other hand, has stated that he's a "Friend of Dorothy" which doesn't get more explicit without outright saying it.

For all that accoustic padding behind you, you still have a lot of echo.

I thought it was a result of being turned vampire. Was it confirmed either way anywhere?
1
It's quite an argument. But don't worry, it will all be over by Christmas.

@ronald3836 two or three usually. Usually unsigned because I have really bad handwriting.

If we're getting upset about acknowledging deities we don't believe in, can we get some alternatives for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday? I'm not sure about Saturday as that could be a planet. Hold on, do we need to rename some planets too?

The colors as currently used were set in the US presidential elections of 2000. Before that, they were assigned randomly but in that election, they were assigned by the media to avoid associating the Democrats with the red that is associated with communism/socialism. And that's where we are now.

Anyone who doesn't bow to the woke agenda has been designated as far-right these days. I'm surprised you haven't been caught up in that already.
1
I though that was you with a fake beard for a second.

I agree with nearly all of your points but having read a fair bit of Anne Rice back in the day, she definitely be that way. (the homoeroticism thing. I think the trans allegory is a stretch though people could certainly see parallels to their own situation, it's more of a generalized thing, not that specific).
