  2. Not groceries but JC Penney (catalog stores) and Argos in the UK are basically this. I seem to recall Amazon mulling over the idea as they started rolling out more local warehouses too.

  3. I went to New York in 2008 and SF twice in 2016. I'm glad I did because I'm never going back to either unless things get a lot better there. The only reason I was considering going back to NYC was looted and burned down in the 'Summer of Love'.

  4. The risk of litigation is a first order effect. If you don't do it though, people become emboldened and then it gets out of control. This is really a government issue at root though as they set the tone for how stores handle things.
