@cian29365 Well said also. Gender is not the whole of one's identity and seems to be getting overloaded with all sorts of other stuff that is not especially relevant. I thought this was something we were getting away from but it seems to have returned in an even more troublesome manner.

I don't see why being a tomboy would count against you being female though. I thought we were getting past all that but now you can't be a woman who happens to like doing traditionally male activities, you have to be some new thing with weird pronouns. The important thing is to be happy in yourself and gender should not be your whole identity anyway. It's not like I spend every waking moment thinking "I'm a man. I'm a man. I'm a man". When it comes to when it matters, I'm a man and all other times, I'm just a person doing person things. Which is not to discount those who are genuinely non-binary or binary trans-genders. I just think that too much is getting loaded into the whole gender thing.
