  2. Any time anyone stands up for free speech, it's a good thing even if their history is less than stellar. It might cause them to self reflect and raise their game and people can evolve. Plus now you have something to hold them to.

  3. Left/right doesn't really mean much any more anyway. It's based off the seating arrangement of French politicians a couple of centuries ago and there has been so much semantic drift that the terms are all over the place.
